Turkish Cypriot Events in Kokkina: 900 People Cross from Occupied Areas

Turkish Cypriots are holding events in Kokkina to commemorate the anniversary of the Tillyria bombings by the Turkish air force. Approximately 900 people from the occupied areas crossed through the Limnitis checkpoint.

The crossing, involving 50 small buses, was completed around 09:30. According to Andreas Karos, President of the Committee for the opening of the Tillyria checkpoints, the crossing took place in segments, escorted by the Police and the United Nations.

Media vehicles also crossed. The event began with the laying of wreaths at a “memorial to the fallen” by Turkish Cypriot leader, Ersin Tatar, and other “officials”. Two coast guard vessels of the occupying regime sailed off the coast of the Kokkina enclave.
