Karkotis Footbridge Inaugurated: Upgrading Quality of Life

The Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Alexis Vafeades, inaugurated the footbridge over the Karkotis River in the Kaliani community. The project aims to upgrade the quality of life of residents and enhance road safety.

According to Mr. Vafeades, the bridge facilitates the safe passage of residents, as they previously used a narrow bridge dating back to 45 AD.

The Minister also mentioned that there is an action plan for the implementation of similar projects in all provinces, which has been prepared by the Commissioner of Mountainous Areas.

"This project is not only a safety project but brings the residents of the community closer together with an easy connection while it is important because it upgrades their standard of living," Mr. Vafeades stated.
