Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) Faces Difficult Restoration in Affected Areas

The Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) spokesperson, Christina Papadopoulou, described the restoration of electricity in the affected areas as particularly difficult due to the extensive damage to the network.
Speaking on 'Πρωινό Δρομολόγιο' (Morning Itinerary), she stated that it would take several days to complete the work, without specifying a specific timeline. So far, over 240 burnt poles and 10 transformers have been replaced.
The EAC has repaired the local network in the communities of Mallia, Souni-Zanatzia, Pano Kivides, and Sotira. Mobile generators are supplying power to areas where electricity has not yet been fully restored.
EAC crews are facing difficulties in hard-to-reach areas when removing burnt poles and installing new ones. Nine kilometers of medium voltage overhead network have been constructed.
