Polis Chrysochous Municipality Re-announces Tenders for Camping Site

The Municipality of Polis Chrysochous is re-announcing tenders for the camping site, after the previous procedure was cancelled due to the sole interested party failing to submit an important document.

According to Mayor Giotis Papachristofi, the only offer submitted in the first call for tenders, which expired on July 4, was deemed invalid.

The Municipal Council decided to re-announce the tender with a deadline for submitting offers until the end of August. If no interest is shown, other solutions will be considered.

Construction works are estimated at €2,188,000 + VAT, while the operation of the camping site is estimated at €2,295,266.36. The contract will be for a period of 25 years with an annual rent of €60,000, increasing by 5% every two years. Initially, the contract will be valid until 2040 with the possibility of renewal for another 15 years.

The camping area had fallen into disrepair due to a dispute between the Municipality and the private manager. The area came under the control of the Municipality of Polis Chrysochous on November 10, 2023, and has remained closed for the last two years.
