Athens Municipality on Alert for Storm 'Erminio'

The Municipality of Athens and the Olympic Athletic Center of Athens (OAKA) are on high alert due to the approaching storm 'Erminio,' expected to hit Attica starting Wednesday, April 1, 2026.

The Municipality of Athens advises citizens to avoid unnecessary travel and not to park in areas with a history of flooding. For any problems, citizens can contact the number 1595 or 210-5277066, 24 hours a day.

OAKA has implemented civil protection plans and has informed staff and visitors of safety guidelines. Athletes and visitors are advised to avoid unnecessary travel, stay indoors during thunderstorms, and follow the instructions of security personnel.

Some municipalities in Attica, such as the Municipality of Vari-Voula-Vouliagmeni, are distributing sandbags to homes near streams.
