A moving story of displacement and reunion from Dikomo, following the 1974 Turkish invasion, has come to light. The story focuses on old Konstantis and his wife, Maritsa, who remained in their village, while their children sought refuge in other areas.

After 18 days, the family members met by chance near the village of Anageia, when the driver of a Red Cross vehicle, transporting Konstantis and Maritsa, asked a man for water. The man recognized his parents, leading to a touching reunion.

The story, dedicated to Frosou, highlights the difficulties and challenges faced by displaced Cypriots during and after the invasion. The family initially took refuge in the monastery of Agios Herakleidios and then in Politiko, before settling in the Anthoupoli settlement.

Konstantis, working on the roads, maintained relations with Turkish Cypriots, while Maritsa was blind, making her movement particularly difficult. The family's story is a testament to the resilience and strength of the human spirit, despite adversity.
