Protest in Mazotos Against Desalination Unit: "No to Dictatorship"

A protest took place in Mazotos against the installation of a mobile desalination unit in the area. The Mazotos Community Council and residents expressed their opposition to the decision.

The Community Leader of Mazotos, Georgios Dimitriou Pafitis, stated that there is an independent study that advises against the installation due to the habitats in the area.

The protesters expressed fears about the environmental impact and lack of consultation. The Community Council demands the revocation of the decision, a full environmental impact study, and an evaluation of alternative solutions.

Mr. Pafitis stressed the need for transparency and social consensus. A meeting with the Ministers of Interior and Agriculture will be held on January 31st in Mazotos.
