Protest in Larnaca Demands Port and Marina Development

Citizens of Larnaca staged a protest in Europe Square, demanding the immediate start of development projects at the city's port and marina. Protesters expressed their disappointment with the ongoing stagnation and delays in the project.
The event was attended by the President of the House of Representatives Annita Demetriou, EOA Larnaca President Angelos Hatziharalambous, EOA Famagusta President Giannis Karousos, as well as other political figures and citizens.
Annita Demetriou stated that unity is necessary to promote the project, which she considers important not only for Larnaca but for Cyprus as a whole. Giannis Karousos, former Minister of Transport, said that the cancellation of the contract is unfair to Larnaca and deprives the city of a significant investment.
Angelos Hatziharalambous emphasized that the implementation of the project is a priority for the residents of Larnaca and that strict deadlines must be set. Euripides Fragkos, representing the city's youth, demanded respect and the immediate start of the works, warning of new mobilizations if the mockery continues.
Protesters held banners with slogans such as "Port and Marina Development Here and Now" and "Larnaca Demands the Development it Deserves."
