Protest Against Geroskipou Municipality Decision Regarding Cafe

A group of citizens protested in the coastal area of Geroskipou, expressing support for the managers of a cafe at Riccos Beach, following a decision by the Geroskipou Municipal Council to proceed with a call for tenders.

The protesters responded to the call of the managers, who have been operating in the area for 50 years, arguing that the decision leads to the removal of the family from the premises. Citizens, members of the War Invalids Association, and the Deputy Mayors of Geroskipou and Paphos attended the event.

The Municipality of Geroskipou issued a statement, saying that tenders for the space were submitted through the Electronic Procurement System of the General Accounting Office of the Republic and that it does not have the discretion to lease the space directly without an open tender.
