Outdoor Work Stoppage Due to Heatwave in Cyprus

The Department of Labour Inspection has announced a suspension of outdoor work and deliveries from 12:00 to 16:00 due to the heatwave and orange alert.

Heavy and moderate outdoor work, as well as product transport using two-wheeled vehicles or personal mobility devices, are prohibited.

The warning applies to areas below 300 meters altitude, more than 10 kilometers from the coastline, and higher mountainous areas above 1150 meters altitude.

For light work, employers must measure temperature and humidity and adjust work accordingly. Breaks in shaded areas, provision of cool water, and appropriate clothing are recommended.
