Disagreements over Amendments to Rehabilitation Center Bill

The Cyprus Federation of Patients Associations (ΟΣΑΚ), the Cyprus Confederation of Disabled People's Organizations (ΚΥΣΟΑ), and the Third Age Observatory have expressed disagreements regarding amendments to the bill on rehabilitation centers. The organizations argue that the amendments do not address the bill's weaknesses and maintain fundamental distortions.
In their joint statement, the organizations stated that maintaining categories in rehabilitation centers leads to inequalities in citizens' access to services. They also question the removal of the restriction that required Category A centers to offer services in all eight thematic areas.
Furthermore, they expressed concerns about exempting existing centers operating under hospital status from the evaluation process during licensing, as well as transitional provisions regarding building requirements.
