Forest Fires Under Control in Agia Varvara and Anarita, Paphos

Forest fires that broke out in the areas of Agia Varvara and Anarita in the Paphos district were brought under full control on Sunday.
According to an announcement by the Department of Forests, the fires started at 10:20 a.m. and were brought under control at 11:30 a.m.
In Agia Varvara, one hectare of land covered with stubble was burned, while in Anarita one decare of land covered with shrubs and low vegetation was burned.
Forces from the Department of Forests, the Fire Service, and the Game and Fauna Service participated in the extinguishing operation.
The causes of the fires are under investigation.
