Increased patrols by British Bases Police during holiday season

The British Bases (BB) Police announced that they will increase their presence on the roads during the holiday season, aiming to ensure road safety. Checks will be increased in both the east and west of the island.

Deputy Assistant Police Director of Dhekelia, Markos Petrou, called on the public to be careful and return home safely. He stressed the need for responsible behavior, especially at events where alcohol is consumed, suggesting designating a sober driver or using a taxi.

Mr. Petrou reminded that driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is dangerous and will be dealt with to the fullest extent of the law. At the same time, he recommended insuring homes, warning of an increased risk of burglaries during the Christmas period.
