The Municipality of Athens is temporarily shutting down 13 businesses for up to 10 days due to unauthorized occupation of public space. The closures will affect businesses in the 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 7th Municipal Communities.

According to the Municipality, more than 150 closures have been carried out since the beginning of the year. The Mayor of Athens, Charis Doukas, stated that the municipal authority is strictly enforcing the new regulatory decision regarding outdoor seating and will not allow any business to operate at the expense of citizens.

The Deputy Mayor of Municipal Police, Thomas Georgiadis, emphasized that the closures concern exceeding or illegally using public space without a permit, and those who circumvent the law will face sanctions.

The temporary closures will last from 4 to 10 days and will take place from November 7 to November 16.
