Police to Monitor Protest in Limassol Over Recent Fire

Police will monitor a protest taking place today at the Limassol embankment (18:30) regarding the recent fire. In a statement, the Police announced that the event will be policed by the Limassol Police Department and MMAD.

Participants are urged to comply with police instructions and the law on public gatherings. The Police emphasize that they will be on-site to ensure the peaceful conduct of the event and smooth traffic flow.

According to the law, the Police have the power to impose restrictions or dissolve the gathering if it is not peaceful or if there is a risk of damage. They may also request the removal of items that make someone unrecognizable if there is reasonable suspicion that the gathering is about to become non-peaceful.
