Following reactions, the platform set up in Pegeia for an event has been removed, and the Akamas Municipality announced changes to its plans for events in Agios Georgios.

A meeting was held at the offices of the Department of Agriculture in Paphos, with the participation of the Director of the Department of Environment Dr. Christodoulos Mesimeris, the President of the EOA Paphos Charalambos Pittokopitis, the Mayor of Akamas Marinos Lambrou, and representatives of other services.

Dr. Mesimeris stated that the situation is on the "right track" and that there is cooperation to avoid environmental degradation, especially in protected areas. The Mayor of Akamas announced that there will be changes in the scheduling of events so as not to affect environmental parameters.

The carob festival will take place as normal, but the established procedure for events in protected areas must be followed. The Department of Environment will investigate Saturday's event and take action if necessary, as no approval had been given.

Charalambos Pittokopitis said that the procedures have been agreed upon and that the misunderstandings have been resolved.
