Unaffordable Student Rents in Limassol: "Students from Paphos Commute"

The Education Committee discussed high rents in Limassol and pending issues in schools.
Members of Parliament highlighted the housing problem for students, especially in Limassol, where rents are unaffordable. Giorgos Karoullas mentioned that students are choosing private universities due to cost.
Chrysanthos Savvidis emphasized that students from Paphos are forced to commute daily to Limassol due to lack of housing. Rents for small apartments range between 800-1000 euros.
Christos Christofias called on the Government to help students study in their hometown.
Issues such as the appointment system and the evaluation of teachers were also discussed.
