Officials Respond to Criticism on Emergency SMS Alerts

Authorities stated that efforts are being made to improve the sending of emergency warning messages to citizens in cooperation with telecommunications providers. The test sending of messages was another measure being implemented.

"We tested it, obviously there will be technical difficulties and we will solve them," it was mentioned, emphasizing that time is essential. It was noted that an SMS has never been sent on such a scale before.

"The public needs to understand that these are tests to find technical solutions, without removing other methods," the sources emphasized. The Early Warning System is proceeding as planned and is expected to be implemented in June 2026.
