The Department of Environment reminds the public that the entry of vehicles and pedestrians to the Larnaca Salt Lakes is prohibited throughout the year, especially when the lakes are without water.

The passage of vehicles or pedestrians can destroy eggs and chicks nesting in the area. In addition, human presence disrupts invertebrates, a staple food for flamingos and other birds.

The Department of Environment recommends using the designated trails and special viewing areas for a safe visit to the area.
