The Department of Forests is launching a reforestation campaign in the Limassol mountain area, aiming to plant 20,000 seedlings in the burned areas. Volunteers, organized groups, and local authorities will participate in this effort.

According to an announcement, the Department of Forests plans tree planting in community, public, church, and other public spaces in the affected communities. On-site meetings with community authorities have already been completed.

The Department of Forests will provide the plants free of charge and will undertake the planting during the period November 2025 – February 2026.

In addition, the Department of Forests, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, plans to announce the program "Planting for the Climate" in September, where municipalities and communities will be eligible to participate.

Natural regeneration of vegetation is expected in private and fallow areas with the onset of rains.
