US Destroyer USS MITSCHER Docks in Limassol Port

The US destroyer USS MITSCHER, an ARLEIGH BURKE-class vessel, is currently in Cyprus, specifically at the port of Limassol. The US Embassy in Nicosia expressed its gratitude for the hospitality.

The ship is named after Admiral Marc Mitscher, a significant naval officer during World War II.

The USS Mitscher departed on July 25, 2025, from Norfolk, Virginia, with the aim of deterring adversaries, enhancing American security, and protecting economic prosperity. The ship's sailors will enjoy shore leave during their stay in Limassol, according to the Embassy.
