Intensive work continues to replace equipment and repair damage to the electricity network in the fire-affected areas of the Limassol district, according to statements made to the Cyprus News Agency (CYPE) by the Deputy Spokesperson of the EAC, Dimitris Nathanael.

Mr. Nathanael noted that there are currently no communities without electricity supply. Repair work has begun in the communities of Doros and Agios Georgios Sylikou, and 45 poles and 5 transformers destroyed by the fires have been replaced.

2.5 km of new medium-voltage overhead network has been constructed to replace the burned section, which will end at the communities from where the low-voltage branches start. In addition, 57 poles that had been dangerously exposed to the ground have been removed.

Despite the flare-ups, work continues as normal.
