EAC Intensifies Efforts to Restore Power in Fire-Affected Areas

The EAC (Electricity Authority of Cyprus) continues its efforts to fully restore power to the fire-affected areas. Over 240 burnt poles and ten transformers have been replaced, and 9 kilometers of medium voltage overhead network have been constructed.
According to EAC representative Christina Papadopoulou, 500 poles and 50 transformers were burnt, with 50% of the damage repaired so far. Repairs have been made to the local network in the communities of Mallia, Souni-Zanatzia, Pano Kivides and Sotira.
Generators are still being used in communities such as Vasa Koilaniou, Vouni, Mallia, Arsos, Lofou, Agios Therapon, Pano Kivides and Agios Amvrosios. The EAC used a drone to record damage in inaccessible areas.
