Foot-and-Mouth Disease: Veterinary Services Issue Warning

The Veterinary Services issued a statement emphasizing the need for responsibility and compliance, as unacceptable practices endanger the livestock sector. Particular reference is made to an incident in Livadia, where a farmer obstructed the services and contributed to the spread of the virus.
According to the Veterinary Services, over 109 animals were found on a property initially declared to have 30 animals, which is under investigation. The services report that they face threats, obstruction, and concealment of animals, despite efforts to eradicate the virus, in accordance with the law.
The Veterinary Services emphasize that strict adherence to the law is necessary to protect the livestock sector.
