30-year-old drowns on Thasos beach

A 30-year-old foreign national, a Romanian citizen, was found unconscious in the sea off the beach of "Koinyra" in Thasos. The incident occurred yesterday at noon.

The Thasos Port Authority was immediately notified. Bystanders and paramedics provided first aid to the 30-year-old.

He was transported by ambulance to the Prinos Health Center, where he was pronounced dead.

An investigation into the incident is being conducted by the 1st Thasos Port Department of the Central Port Authority of Kavala. The body will be transferred to the Forensic Service of Thrace for autopsy.
