High Employment Rate for MIEEK Graduates in Cyprus

According to unofficial data from the Ministry of Education, the employment rate for graduates of the Public School of Higher Vocational Education and Training (MIEEK) in Cyprus is approaching 100%. This is attributed to the creation of a special platform by the Directorate of Secondary Technical and Vocational Education and Training, which facilitates job searching for graduates and finding suitable personnel for employers.
The Minister of Education, Athena Michaelidou, stated in response to a question from MP Charalambos Theopemptou, that the DMTEEK offers various educational pathways for Vocational Education and Training (VET Pathways), including Secondary Technical and Vocational Education (MTEE), Evening Schools of Technical and Vocational Education (ESTEE), the Apprenticeship System of Vocational Education and Training (SMEEK), Lifelong Vocational Education and Training Programs (PDBEEK), and the Public School MIEEK.
The D.E.E.T.E. platform (Communication Network of Employers for Technical Professions) has been created to facilitate communication between graduates and employers. Currently, 207 employers and 578 students/graduates of MTEE, ESTEE, and MIEEK are registered on the platform.
Ms. Michaelidou emphasized that the percentage of VET trainees who benefit from learning mobility abroad, according to data from the IDEP Lifelong Learning, is approximately 10% for MTEE and ESTEE students, and 15% for MIEEK students.
