Universal and Warner Close to AI Agreements
Share on:

Universal Music and Warner Music are nearing agreements with artificial intelligence (AI) companies, according to a report by the Financial Times. The agreements concern the use of music to create tracks via creative AI and the training of language models.

Negotiations are focused on licensing songs and establishing a payment structure similar to that of streaming, where each play triggers a micro-payment.

The increasing use of AI in creative industries has led to lawsuits from artists and rights holders, who accuse AI companies of using copyrighted material without permission.
