TEA: Supplementary Pension Up to 300 Euros from Occupational Funds
Share on:

Occupational Pension Funds (TEA) are expected to offer a supplementary pension of up to 300 euros per month for 20-25 years of insurance, according to a bill by the Ministry of Labor. The changes aim to reform the TEAs and increase benefits, especially for the self-employed.

The amount of the pension will depend on the insurance period, age, contributions, and the viability of the fund. The goal is to develop occupational insurance and ensure a higher standard of living for pensioners.

The new bill will include more flexible entry criteria for TEAs, lower taxation of benefits, tax incentives for deducting contributions from taxable income, reduced taxation on lump sums, and flexible insurance programs. It also provides for a reduction in the minimum number of founders for the establishment of a new TEA and facilitates the transfer of insured persons between funds.

According to data from the Bank of Greece, the total value of TEA assets increased by 3.8% at the end of the second quarter of 2025, reaching 2.639 billion euros.
