The President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, met with David Zapolsky of Amazon in New York to discuss strengthening cooperation on the digital transformation of Cyprus.

According to the Government Spokesperson, the meeting follows previous contacts with Panos Panay and Amazon AWS and Amazon Kuiper. Amazon Kuiper is scheduled to visit Cyprus in the coming weeks.

Mr. Letymbiotis stated that Cyprus is emerging as a regional innovation hub, particularly in the areas of fintech, regtech, and gametech, hosting over 1,600 international companies, including 47 multinationals. The Technology and Information Communication sector has seen annual growth of over 17% since 2014, contributing nearly 14% to GDP.

Investments in data centers, cloud, and artificial intelligence make Cyprus an attractive destination for international technology companies, creating the conditions for meaningful collaborations.
