Supermarket Price Comparison via e-kalathi by Consumer Association

The Cyprus Consumers' Association has published its findings from analyzing data from e-kalathi, the price monitoring platform, for the period of July 29 - August 3, 2025.

Out of the 478 product codes in e-kalathi, 267 common codes were identified in the supermarkets Sklavenitis, Athienitis, Ioannidis, Metro, and Alfa Mega. These supermarkets have the most common products.

According to a price comparison on July 29, 2025, for the 267 common products, the total cost per supermarket was: Sklavenitis (€926.52), Athienitis (€979.49), Ioannidis (€1025.85), Metro (€1047.76), and Alfa Mega (€1049.87). Prices remained unchanged in the provinces.

On August 3, 2025, Alfa Mega supermarket had 89 products on offer, Athienitis 16, and Sklavenitis 2.

Of Alfa Mega's 89 offers, 78 were higher than Sklavenitis' usual prices and 60 were higher than Athienitis' usual prices.

The Cyprus Consumers' Association will continue to monitor prices on e-kalathi and publish its findings.
