Price Comparison of Common Products by Consumer Association

The Cyprus Consumer Association evaluated prices on e-kalathi and published its findings.
According to an announcement, e-kalathi was made available for public use on June 12, 2025, and the Association processed and evaluated data recorded from July 29, 2025, to August 3, 2025.
Out of 478 product codes, 267 common codes were identified in the Sklavenitis, Athienitis, Ioannidis, Metro, and Alfa Mega supermarkets. These supermarkets have the most common products.
A comparison on July 29, 2025, showed that the total cost of the 267 common products was: Sklavenitis €926.52, Athienitis €979.49, Ioannidis €1025.85, Metro €1047.76, and Alfa Mega €1049.87.
On August 3, 2025, Alfa Mega supermarket had 89 products on offer, Athienitis had 16, and Sklavenitis had 2.
The Association noted that 78 of the 89 offers at Alfa Mega were higher than the usual prices at Sklavenitis, and 60 were higher than the prices at Athienitis.
The findings were based on prices recorded on e-kalathi, and the Association will continue to monitor and publish its findings.
