SEK: Requests Confirmation of Legality for ATA Proposal

The General Secretary of SEK, Andreas Matsas, stated that the Government must substantiate the legality of its proposal to extend ATA to all employees, possibly through legislative regulation, addressing the Attorney General.

Referring to the legal opinion of Achilleas Aimilianidis, requested by OEB and KEBE, Mr. Matsas emphasized the need for the Government to confirm or overturn this indication through the Attorney General's Office. He expressed hope that the hastiness of the announcement would not be confirmed.

Mr. Matsas added that the unions have already taken a stand and have provided alternative options for the extension of ATA, covering all employees. He also noted that the handling of the issue is jeopardizing labor relations.
