Cyprus is actively participating in the EU BIM Task Group, aiming to promote the BIM methodology at the European level. The country is represented by the Scientific and Technical Chamber of Cyprus (ETEK).

On February 26, 2026, ETEK hosted an EU BIM Task Group workshop titled "Scaling BIM Down: Making BIM work for small firms and small projects," with international participation.

The workshop aimed to facilitate dialogue on the integration of the BIM methodology by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the construction sector.

The opening was addressed by Mr. Thrasos Afamis (Department of Public Works), Mr. Platon Stylianou (President of ECCE and 1st Vice President of ETEK), and Mr. Andreas Theodotou (General Secretary of ETEK).

The President of ETEK emphasized the benefits of BIM for smaller projects as well. The representative of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works stated that the adoption of BIM is a priority for the government.

The workshop included representatives from Latvia, Estonia, Spain, Italy, Luxembourg, and Switzerland. The coordinators were Ms. Liana Anagnostaki (Technical Chamber of Greece) and Mr. Thrasyvoulos Karagiannis (ETEK).

The conclusions will be posted on the EU BIM Task Group website.
