Panos Marinopoulos Passes Away at 74

Businessman Panos Marinopoulos has passed away at the age of 74 due to hypoxic encephalopathy. Born in 1951, he was a member of the Marinopoulos family, known for its presence in the pharmaceutical industry and retail sector.

He studied at the School of Pharmacy of the University of Athens and at the Institute of Political Science in Paris. He was married to Ioanna Marinopoulou and they had two children.

The “Marinopoulos” supermarket chain had hundreds of stores in Greece before its collapse and transfer to Sklavenitis in 2017. Panos Marinopoulos had retired from his active business role before the crisis but continued to participate in social initiatives.
