Persianis: Public Works at Risk Due to Lack of Coordination

The President of the Fiscal Council of Cyprus, Michalis Persianis, warns that gaps in coordination and monitoring are jeopardizing the smooth progress of public works.
In statements to the Cyprus News Agency (CYPE), Mr. Persianis stated that weaknesses in monitoring and supervision may lead to delays and cost overruns until 2028. He emphasized the need to create a central mechanism and a special platform to monitor the progress of projects and their expenses.
Mr. Persianis also referred to the State Budget for 2026, which he described as good but with high uncertainty, stressing the need for close monitoring of developments.
