Nexans: Successful Sea Trial of Cables for GSI

Nexans has announced the successful completion of the sea trial for the submarine power cables of the Great Sea Interconnector (GSI) project, west of Sicily, Italy.
The trial, conducted at depths of up to 3,000 meters, removes concerns about the technical feasibility of the project. The specialized cable-laying vessel "Nexans Aurora" was used for the installation and retrieval of cable sections, as well as for high-voltage electrical testing.
The data collected will be subjected to technical processing and evaluation.
