New Bill for Strengthening Collective Labor Agreements Under Consultation

A bill from the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, titled 'National Social Agreement,' has been put up for public consultation, aiming to strengthen collective labor agreements.

The Minister of Labor, Niki Kerameus, stated that this agreement leads to higher wages, better working conditions, and greater stability for businesses.

Key axes of the bill:

• Easier extension of Collective Labor Agreements (CLAs) by reducing the required coverage rate from 50% to 40%.
• Full protection of employees after the expiration of CLAs, with a three-month extension and full post-employment effect.
• Acceleration of procedures in case of disagreement between employees and employers.

The bill includes 16 articles and will remain in public consultation until January 28.
