N. Papadopoulos: Supporting Businesses is a Priority

The President of DIKO, Nikos Papadopoulos, emphasized the need to support Cypriot businesses at an INE event in Paphos. According to Mr. Papadopoulos, supporting businesses is crucial for creating jobs and developing the economy, especially in times of crisis.

Mr. Papadopoulos referred to the resilience of the Cypriot economy despite the challenges of recent decades, highlighting the role of Cypriot entrepreneurs and workers. He warned about geopolitical developments and their impact on the economy, tourism, and energy.

He also underscored the importance of European solidarity with the Republic of Cyprus and the need to accelerate energy infrastructure, including the natural gas terminal in Vasiliko and the development of renewable energy sources. He also mentioned the tax reform as a step towards strengthening competitiveness, as well as the need to reduce bureaucracy and the digital transformation of the state.

Mr. Papadopoulos concluded by referring to the need for a Parliament that supports development and entrepreneurship.
