Realtors: Airbnb Restrictions Didn't Solve Housing Problem
Share on:

According to realtors, the restrictions imposed on short-term Airbnb-style rentals in Athens and Thessaloniki did not have the expected results in addressing the housing problem. They emphasize that demonizing the sector did not lead to a decrease in property prices.

Mr. Lefteris Potamianos, President of the Association of Real Estate Agents of Athens, stated that short-term rentals are not the main cause of the housing crisis and that the restrictions imposed were spasmodic impression-making moves. He believes that short-term rentals contributed to the real estate market and did not burden it.

The above were mentioned at the ''Short Stay Athens Conference 2026'' organized by the Association of Short Term Rental Companies (Stama Greece).
