Megalou (Piraeus Bank): We are not seeking acquisition

The CEO of Piraeus Bank, Christos Megalou, stated in an interview with Bloomberg that the bank is not seeking an acquisition, but recognizes the attractiveness of Piraeus Bank.
He referred to the new Strategic Plan 2026-2030, the upcoming acquisition of the Athens Stock Exchange by Euronext, and the potential upgrade of the Greek capital market by MSCI.
Mr. Megalou emphasized the resilience of the Greek economy despite the crises and predicted growth above the European average. He also noted the volatility in the markets due to the situation in the Middle East and the upward trend in energy prices.
Regarding shipping finance, he mentioned that it is a difficult period for risk pricing, but the bank's shipping portfolio has a loan-to-value ratio of assets below 50%.
