Tax Return Deadline Expires - Penalties Apply from Thursday

The extension for submitting the Individual Income Tax Return for the year 2024 expires tonight, Wednesday, October 15. As of noon, 6,500 returns remain 'Temporarily Received,' while 333,800 returns have been definitively submitted, marking a 5.2% increase compared to 2023.
Tax Commissioner Sotiris Markidis urged citizens to complete the submission of their returns to avoid penalties and charges. From midnight, late submissions are subject to an administrative fine of €100, additional tax (5%), a financial charge (5%), and interest.
During the fifteen-day extension, approximately 18,100 returns were definitively submitted. Early submissions for 2024 exceeded the 317,400 of 2023 by 16,000 returns.
