Letymbiotis: Full Financial Coverage for Foot-and-Mouth Disease

Government Spokesperson, Konstantinos Letymbiotis, assured full financial support from the State to those affected by foot-and-mouth disease. This commitment was made after a meeting at the Presidential Palace.

The meeting included representatives of directly affected bodies and relevant state services, aiming to exchange views and define actions to address the crisis.

Mr. Letymbiotis stressed the need for strict implementation of European protocols to limit the spread of the disease. He also appealed to all stakeholders to comply with biosecurity measures.

Strengthening the vaccination program in coordination with the European Union is being considered. Measures were also discussed for units operating in areas outside the effective control of the Republic of Cyprus.

Mr. Letymbiotis thanked private veterinarians for their contribution to the implementation of protocols and the vaccination program.
