IELKA: 1.06% Inflation in Supermarkets in 2025

According to a study by the Institute of Retail Consumer Goods Research (IELKA), inflation in supermarket chains was +1.06% in the 12-month period from December 2024 to November 2025, compared to the same period last year.
Price decreases were recorded in grocery foods (-3.82%) and in detergents and cleaning products (-7.11%).
Increases were observed in fresh meat (+7.64%), chocolates (+9.64%), and breakfast items (+5.54%).
Greece has the ninth lowest inflation rate in the EU for food and non-alcoholic beverages in October 2025, at 2.6%, according to Eurostat data.
International cocoa and coffee prices are impacting the prices of sweets and breakfast items.
