Rent Refund: Amended Declarations Due Tomorrow, Payments by January 15th

Thousands of tenants have until tomorrow, Tuesday, December 30th, to make corrections to their E1 declarations regarding the rent refund. The corrections concern cases where they did not receive any money or received reduced amounts.

Amended E1 declarations are accepted until Tuesday evening without fines, provided that the changes relate exclusively to the rental expense details. The problem was identified in the November clearance, where in many declarations the monthly rent was declared as the annual amount, leading to an incorrect calculation of the refund.

The correction is made electronically via the myAADE platform of AADE. Taxpayers must open the 2024 tax year declaration, select an amended declaration, and check the codes relating to the main or student residence.

Those who complete the process by tomorrow will be paid by January 15, 2026, provided that the IBAN has also been correctly declared. The rent refund corresponds to 1/12 of the annual expense declared in E1, with a maximum limit of 800 euros for a tenant without children.
