Transporters' Strike in Cyprus Set for November 3rd

Members of the Pancyprian Transporters Association A’, a member of G.S. Povek, are going on an indefinite strike starting November 3rd, following a unanimous decision by the General Assembly. This decision follows dynamic measures taken on October 7th.
According to a statement, transporters face chronic problems, including amending legislation to ban the use of spotlights, changing legislation on truck heights, and amending legislation on tipper-type truck beds.
Other issues mentioned include the irregular supply of fuel from the occupied territories, the use of heating oil by some carriers, the behavior of port managers, and the non-implementation of the agreement regarding entry to port areas.
The association calls on transporters to contact the Board of Directors or G.S. Povek for information regarding coordination and further actions. Source: CYBC
