Elon Musk Becomes First Person Worth Over $800 Billion

Elon Musk has become the first person in history with a net worth exceeding $800 billion, following the merger of SpaceX and xAI.

The merger values SpaceX at $1 trillion and xAI at $250 billion, according to documents reviewed by CNBC.

Tesla, traditionally Musk's primary source of wealth, has a market capitalization of $1.58 trillion, only 26% higher than SpaceX's value of $1.25 trillion.

Musk holds approximately a 43% stake in SpaceX, compared to the 13% he holds in Tesla. SpaceX now accounts for more than half of Musk's wealth, which exceeds $852 billion, according to the Forbes Real Time Billionaires index.

Tesla's stock has declined by 6% in 2026. In January, Tesla reported a 16% drop in vehicle deliveries and a 3% decrease in total revenue for 2025.
