EU Commission Approves DoorDash's Acquisition of Deliveroo

The European Commission has approved the acquisition of sole control of Deliveroo plc by DoorDash Inc., according to the European Union's regulation on mergers of online food delivery companies.

The Commission concluded that the transaction does not distort competition, as the two companies do not operate in the same or vertically related markets.

DoorDash is an American company listed on NASDAQ that operates a local commerce platform. In the EU, it operates in 20 member states through Wolt, which was acquired in 2022.

Deliveroo is a British company listed on the London Stock Exchange, offering online delivery services for food, supermarkets and retail products. In the EU, it operates in Belgium, France, Ireland and Italy.
