Tax Authority Audits Airbnb for Undeclared Properties

The Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) is initiating thorough audits of thousands of properties rented through Airbnb, Booking, and VRBO. Rental data will be compared with owners' tax returns to identify undeclared income and properties operating outside the Short-Term Residence Registry.

Penalties of up to 50% of income are foreseen for detected violations.
