OEB Expresses Displeasure over Union Strike Action

The Cyprus Employers & Industrialists Federation (OEB) has expressed displeasure and disappointment over the decision of the unions to resort to strike action. In a statement, the OEB condemned the unions' actions, claiming they violate the Industrial Relations Code.
The OEB emphasizes that the dialogue process is ongoing, according to an announcement by the Minister of Labor. It characterizes the strike action as irregular, as only the Minister of Labor has the authority to declare a deadlock. Furthermore, it believes that the strikes will make finding a solution more difficult.
The OEB states its commitment to implementing the 2017 and 2023 agreements to find a 'permanent and comprehensive Agreement for a new regulation of the Cost-of-Living Allowance (ATA)'. It calls on the unions to re-evaluate their decisions and return to dialogue.
