Two-Hour Warning Strike at EAC on Friday

EAC (Electricity Authority of Cyprus) employees will hold a two-hour warning strike on Friday, February 27th, from 08:00 to 10:00.

In a joint letter to the General Manager of the EAC, the trade unions ΕΠΟΠΑΗ, ΣΗΔΗΚΕΚ, ΣΕΠΑΗΚ, and ΣΥΒΑΗΚ expressed their concern about the state of the EAC, citing electricity shortages, rising costs, photovoltaic cuts, and water scarcity.

The trade unions accuse the state of inconsistent policies, lack of strategic planning, and inaction, arguing that the situation is leading to a "short circuit" of the EAC. They also mention outstanding labor issues that hinder the organization's operation.

The employees declare their determination to fight for the protection of the EAC, believing that this serves the interests of the country, the economy, and consumers.
